Featuring Niel Patrick Guiban and Catherine Gayle Guiban

When Patrick and Catherine met in their first year of college back in 2006, love didn’t strike like lightning, it bloomed gently, beautifully. “We had this quiet mutual understanding,” Catherine recalls. “We loved spending time with each other. People kept asking if we were together, but we weren’t—yet. We fell in love slowly. And it was beautiful.”

By December that year, they gave their love a name. Eight years later, Patrick proposed, and in 2014, they exchanged vows. Fast forward to December 19, 2024—ten years of love, commitment, and growth, and the couple chose to honor that journey by renewing their vows in a celebration that reflected not only their love story, but the life they had built.

The ceremony took place in the very church they attend every Sunday. “Every time we walked through those doors, we dreamed of this day, of walking down the aisle again, with our children, our family, and our dreams beside us,” Catherine shares.

The theme, described by stylist Dave Sandoval as “kalmang sosyal,” (subdued elegance) captured the couple’s essence, elegant yet understated, refined yet personal. The celebration mirrored who they are today: seasoned by time, grounded by love. The color palette featured dove-gray tones, a shared favorite, layered with French-inspired floral details, grand windows, and timeless.

Making the day even more memorable were deeply personal touches. Their daughters, Scarlett and Shazia, played the piano and sang during the ceremony. Music is a shared passion of the couple. “It was a moment I wanted to last forever,” Catherine says.

The couple surprised their guests with a full-blown performance, a “remake” of their 2014 entrance song—this time, live. “People thought we were lip-syncing again, but no—it was really us,” Patrick laughs. Their duet and dance to Loose Control and River added a bold, unforgettable twist.
What made this celebration truly unique wasn’t just the designer gown by Michael Cinco or the dashing suit by Vin Orias, it was the presence of their children, the return of Patrick’s father, and the same wedding planning team from a decade ago, Just Like Ours Events by Queen David.

“This time, everything was complete,” Catherine smiles. “It wasn’t just a celebration of our wedding; it was a celebration of everything we’ve built together.”

And if the past ten years were this extraordinary, the next chapter promises even more magic.
