Featuring Jeremy Lee & Nicole Sytin
When Jeremy first confessed his feelings to Nicole, she was already planning her return to Manila from Vancouver. “I told him it didn’t make sense,” Nicole recalls. “There was no way I could ask someone I’d just met to move halfway across the world. And long-distance? I didn’t see a happy ending.” But love, as it often does, had other plans.

Just weeks before Nicole’s move, Jeremy surprised her by saying he had actually considered relocating. “That changed everything,” she shares.

They tried long-distance briefly, but the pandemic brought Nicole back to Canada, where their relationship grew stronger over three and a half more years.

In April 2024, Jeremy proposed in a Vancouver function room filled with petals and memories. Later that night, they skipped the fancy dinner and headed to Wendy’s for Nicole’s favorite chicken strips, a tradition they lovingly shared with their wedding guests months later via trays of Wendy’s nuggets at the afterparty.

Their June 2025 wedding in Manila was more than a celebration; it was a tapestry of their journey, woven from thoughtful details, cross-cultural traditions, and the people they love.

Over 300 guests gathered, many from abroad, a testament to how deeply Jeremy and Nicole are cherished.
The theme? A garden wedding indoors, an homage to where their love blossomed: British Columbia. “We wanted to recreate the beauty of Vancouver’s gardens, but indoors, so our guests could feel like they were transported into that world of ours—even with air-conditioning,” Nicole laughs.

Their florals echoed this, featuring cascading Phalaenopsis orchids (a nod to both their mothers), hydrangeas Nicole adores, and lush greenery reminiscent of VanDusen and Butchart Gardens.

Nicole wore a breathtaking Ines Di Santo ballgown adorned with rose appliqués. “Growing up, I always imagined that if I were a flower, I’d be a rose,” she muses.

“Ordinary, yes, but capable of making someone feel special.” Jeremy’s personal touches included game controller cufflinks and bold red-soled shoes engraved with their monogram—a playful yet meaningful tribute to their story.
The couple’s attention to guest experience was unmatched. From Japanese vitamins and rare Yamazaki 12 whisky flown in by family friends, to months of tequila smuggling (legally, bottle by bottle) just to serve Nicole’s favorite 818 Reposado. “If you had a shot at our wedding,” she jokes, “it probably rode in someone’s suitcase from Vancouver.”

But the heart of the day lived in its moments: a moth appearing at Nicole’s home, felt as a sign from her late father; Jeremy shyly yet proudly proclaiming his love during the homily; and a surprise Camp Rock performance at the afterparty that had everyone cheering.
Another highlight are Nicole’s sibling’s speeches. “When we ask our guests what they felt was memorable about our wedding, there was only one common answer from all of them: my brother’s speech. My words can’t do justice to this, but someone described it perfectly – like getting whiplash. I had my 3 younger siblings do a joint speech and my 2 sisters went first, bawling their eyes out while giving their speeches. My brother went last, and brought the house down. Some of Jeremy’s relatives apparently thought he was a hired stand up comedian.”, Nicole shares laughingly.

“There’s nothing cookie-cutter about our story,” Nicole says. “Every detail came from love. From people who flew in, helped pack vitamins, or carried tequila across oceans.”
“We aimed to create an unforgettable experience, one that would leave everyone with a bit of FOMO. Guests flew in from across the globe—Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, the US, and Canada—adding to the international flair. Our goal was to blend touching, sentimental moments with light-hearted, unforgettable ones. Our wedding day delivered on both fronts, filled with tears of joy and laughter,” shares Nicole.

None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support of their families. Jeremy’s entire family flew in from Vancouver to celebrate with them, while Nicole’s siblings, along with friends and family friends from Vancouver and the US, also joined the occasion and played integral roles in the planning and preparations.
Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration, it was a testament to how far love, quite literally, can go.
