Featuring Christian Miguel Lejano and Geraldine Wambangco
Miguel and Geraldine’s love story began in the front row of a college classroom, with an intimidating professor, an empty seat, and Miguel deciding Geraldine needed company.
They met at the University of Asia and the Pacific in 2016, but friendship truly took root the following year. They became classmates, grew closer through a mutual friend, and found an easy rhythm together. Miguel still jokes that he sat beside Geraldine because he “felt sorry for her” being alone in front, though he spent plenty of those classes asleep.

By 2018, friendship had become something more. Miguel invited Geraldine to dinner and confessed his feelings. Their early years were simple: new restaurants, movie dates, and time spent learning each other’s worlds. That friendship-first foundation became the quiet strength of their relationship.

Seven years later, Miguel planned the next chapter in Osaka. During an August 2025 trip with Geraldine’s family, he proposed early one morning at Nishinomaru Garden beside Osaka Castle. The surprise grew sweeter when Geraldine discovered Miguel’s family had secretly flown in too. Surrounded by both families, she said yes.

On their wedding day, everything reflected what mattered most: faith, family, and tradition. The ceremony was intentionally classic, with framed photographs of their late grandparents displayed as a tender reminder that love can remain present across generations. Adding another personal layer, the Mass was officiated by a family friend and priest whom Miguel had served as an altar server in his younger years.

Then came a scene no one could have scripted. Heavy rain poured just before Geraldine’s walk down the aisle. But as she reached the church, it suddenly stopped. For a few breathtaking minutes, the timing felt cinematic, as though the day itself had made room for her entrance.

The reception transformed into a dramatic European-inspired dreamscape, evoking an old opera house, romantic garden, and classical painting. Yet beneath the grandeur were deeply human moments.

Their usually reserved fathers delivered speeches that had guests laughing through tears, while the newlyweds surprised everyone with a rehearsed first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Tenerife Sea.” When they landed their much-practiced lift, the room audibly gasped.
“If there’s one word to sum up our wedding day, it would be timeless,” Geraldine shared.
And timeless it was, because every detail carried something lasting: family, faith, friendship, and a love that had grown with them for eight years.
