The evening began with a simple dinner at Manila House. Kim wasn’t thrilled about it, as it was their 10th anniversary, and she expected Jerald to plan something more extravagant. The dinner ended earlier than anticipated because Kim, feeling disappointed, preferred to head home.
On the drive back, Kim wanted to remove her makeup, but Jerald stopped her, mentioning they still needed to shoot a video for their vlog. This sparked Kim’s curiosity, especially when Jerald parked at the PETA Theater, saying they would be filming there. Kim’s excitement grew as they walked through the theater’s halls, down the aisle, and onto the stage where they first met and worked together. At that time Kim knew it wasn’t going to be a regular evening.
Jerald was backstage, ready to pop the question. When he finally asked, Kim happily said, “Yes.” The proposal theme was a reenactment of the first PETA performance they had been part of together, even their outfits were from that very first play they did. The production crew and their friends were fully onboard and supportive of Jerald’s plan.
Coordinator Kathryn Kim Torres shared some behind-the-scenes details: “To keep the ring hidden, I went to Jerald’s house the day before the proposal and took it so Kim wouldn’t find it.” Torres laughed as she continued, “Everything fell into place perfectly—the venue was ideal, all the suppliers were cooperative, and Jerald was prepared. The ring, from Radiant Luxe, had been with Je beforehand, and he had to hide it in a shoe box out of Kim’s reach.”
