Cebuanos were treated to a one-night fashion show entitled “Panumpa: The Promise”, gathering eight of the country’s brightest names in fashion.
The most anticipated bridal event in Metro Cebu held last October 5, 2019, at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino was in honor of Cebu Wedding Expo’s fifth successful year.
The glittering event co-presented by Diagold and Cary Santiago featured swoon-worthy bridal looks by Anthony Ramirez, Cheetah Rivera, Hannah Kong, Jaz Cerezo, Mak Tumang, Martin Bautista, Maureen Disini-Tiechert, Patricia Santos, Rosenthal Tee, and Vania Romoff.
Exciting bridal styles were presented at the show as models strutted down the gorgeously sleek black runway almost at floor level for a more intimate set-up. Adding to the dramatic ambiance were heavy black drapes framing a visually stunning image of gathered tulle. For a Filipino touch, a cluster of capiz chandeliers hung overhead.
Anthony Ramirez, who launched his first bridal collection last year, presented sophisticated bridal creations from a modern terno most recently worn by Arci Munoz at the ABS-CBN Ball to an ultra-chic beaded bustier and pants.
Cheetah Rivera’s collection featured a modern take on vintage silhouettes from a tea-length dress to a multi-tiered strapless gown with her signature avian accent.
Hannah Kong, who is known for her strong feminine aesthetic, presented a variety of styles from a fully embellished slip dress to a delicately beaded ball gown.
Jaz Cerezo reimagined the evening gowns she has come to be known for with a collection of clean lines and soft drapes.
Mak Tumang presented a dreamy modern Filipiniana with lots of airy tulles, lace, and feathery elements.
Martin Bautista went for cool and contemporary with his signature relaxed draping and abstract beadwork. His final look was an empire waist, puffed sleeves gown with a textured fabric train worn by supermodel Ria Bolivar.
Maureen Disini-Tiechert created adorably pretty frocks for the little ladies at the wedding using lace and floral appliques.
Patricia Santos presented an ethereal collection of finely embellished crystallized gowns perfect for brides who want to sparkle and shine.
Rosenthal Tee showed a glamorous collection perfect for the modern princess bride. Her magazine cover-worthy looks included a perfectly fitted bustier gown with subtle lace embroidery and a delicately bejeweled veil.
Lastly, Cebu born designer Vania Romoff staged her first show in her hometown after ten years with a homage to lightness and volume. Her predominantly cream palette with the use of taffeta and delicate piña fabric in her collection are trends to watch out for.
