Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters just finished her reign, and she’s already starting on a new chapter of her life with former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow. The proposal took place at Tebow’s family farm just outside Jacksonville, Florida.
The surprise proposal was posted by the bride-to-be on her Instagram account with the caption, “ Any dreams I’ve ever had, you’ve exceeded them all! I love you and I can’t wait to spend forever with you! @timtebow”.

According to People Magazine, Tebow had an arbor installed with a specially made bench that was engraved with the date the couple first met. They took a sunset stroll along the property, stopped next to a small lake and talked for a few minutes about their relationship and their future before Tebow asked the question, “Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, will you marry me?”

The South African stunner definitely said ‘Yes!’ and Tebow presented his future bride a cool 7.25-carat solitaire ring saying, “This ring is internally flawless, just like you”. Nel-Peters generously showed off her massive sparkler in series of photos lovingly captured by photographer, Kelly Braman.
Diamond experts say a ring of such size and clarity could be valued between $500,000 to a million.
The enormous diamond is set in platinum with pave accents on both the band and the gallery highlighting the brilliant center stone. Reports say that Tebow purchased the diamond a month before proposing from a broker who flew into Jacksonville, Florida carrying several options. Iowa based publications later revealed that a Cedar Rapids jeweler, Siebke Hoyt Jewelers was behind the ring presented to the former Miss Universe.
Tebow meticulously planned his romantic proposal and left no stone unturned. As if a diamond of such size isn’t overwhelming enough, Tebow flew in South African singer Matthew Mole, who stepped out of a hay bale to serenade the couple with their favorite song, “The Wedding Song” much to the delight of his fiancée.
As a devout Christian, Tebow made sure the proposal would be a family affair. He secretly arranged for Nel-Peters’ family and closest friends from South Africa to fly to Florida and witness the engagement. Along with his family members, invitees watched the proposal from a distance before coming out of hiding to the shock of Nel-Peters who had no idea that her loved ones would be present for the momentous event.

Tebow and Nel-Peters started corresponding in early 2018. They officially confirmed their relationship in July of last year. No date has been set for the ceremony but the couple shared their excitement over planning the wedding. Days after the engagement, the couple celebrated their milestone with a trip to Walt Disney World.
