Most brides obsess about finding the perfect wedding dress but with bride Dio, it was all about the perfect ceiling décor. As funny as it may seem, Dio’s obsession with having a Pinterest-worthy ceiling was the anchor of the whole wedding preparations. And seeing how it all turned out, we can say it was a pretty good idea!
We’ve all heard about how crazy wedding planning can be, so get this: long-distance couple Rass and Dio had to deal with planning their wedding apart. Since the couple worked overseas, planning their wedding posed more challenges than usual, but they decided to be hands-on and strategically got their family members involved in order to realize their dream wedding. It was a good thing they were able to book their major suppliers including the venue early on in the planning process after poring over Instagram and Pinterest photos of ceiling décor that Dio put as a must in her list.
The couple decided to have the ceremony and reception at Hill Creek Gardens, Tagaytay. The venue was not only perfect for Dio’s dream décor, but it was also convenient for their guests because of the venue’s complete amenities. Working with a fresh, romantic and vibrant theme with lots of soft pinks, peaches and cream, they were able to pull off their vision with the help of the team from Hill Creek Gardens and Tagaytay String Lights Rental who gave the bride the wedding ceiling décor of her dreams.
The slight rain didn’t dampen the mood at the ceremony set up on the verdant grounds of the venue. Dio lit up the aisle as she walked down the grassy path looking radiant in her off-the-shoulder bridal ballgown. “During our wedding preparations, we went to a number of bridal shops here in Singapore and also in the Philippines to see what options we had. She tried a lot of designs and she honestly liked a lot of them but eventually, we decided to pick a ready-to-wear gown so we did not have to go back and forth for the fitting” Rass shares.
The gardens at Hill Creek was the deciding factor in choosing the bridal gown. To mimic the surroundings (and the bride’s beloved ceiling), the bride chose a gown with floral details incorporating lace, delicate needlework and intricate beadwork depicting vines. The entourage wore dresses in different styles and shades of soft pinks for a cohesive and unified look. The groom, on the other hand, kept it cool and classic with a cream and black suit by Ian Manila.
Like most couples, Rass and Dio prioritized their food menu. They believed that good food was something guests remembered. “We went all out on the food and it was really a blessing because the best caterer for us, K. by Cunanan Catering also specializes in the kind of styling and feel that we wanted for our reception,” Rass relates.
The wedding reception styling was kept fresh, simple and modern with geometric brass figures, candles and floral arrangements of roses and wildflowers in clear glass vases. Guests partied the night away and received souvenirs lovingly prepared and packed by the groom’s mother and sister.
More than all the components of the wedding coming together, what made Dio and Rass’ wedding charming was not just the quaint details and the overall look of the event. It was the collective effort and contributions of both families in making their union special. Everything was made and prepared with love and affection for the couple.
“I always make sure I spend time with my family as I am immensely close to them. My wife is very family-oriented as well. It would be a dream come true if all these were amplified and rolled into one special day – but it was not a dream. It came to be a reality on our wedding day. It was not something that we imagined it would be. It was more!”
