Featuring Ryan Uy and Rosenthal Tee

Some love stories do not begin with grand gestures. Sometimes, they start with a seating arrangement that feels a little too intentional.

For Ryan and Rosenthal, it began in February 2024 at the wedding of Ryan’s younger brother. Rosenthal attended the reception dinner as a guest of her now mother-in-law, expecting to meet people and network. What she did not know was that Ryan’s family had quietly arranged for them to sit beside each other. Between introductions, dinner conversations, and Ryan’s thick Aussie accent that Rosenthal admits she could barely understand at first, something still clicked. By the end of the night, Ryan asked for her number. The next day, he texted.

Their first date unfolded at White Walls Gallery, where Rosenthal had an art exhibit. Surrounded by her paintings, they talked about fashion, art, London, Sydney, work, and future plans before continuing the evening at Kazunori and Dr. Wine in Makati. What started casually became a steady long-distance rhythm while Ryan finished his master’s degree in Sydney. By May 2024, he returned to Manila for good to see where their almost unspoken relationship could go.

Eight months after they met, Ryan proposed during a trip to Japan. At Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, with a photographer secretly hired to capture the moment, Ryan led Rosenthal to a footbridge over a pond. He turned to her and said, “I already have everyone’s yes. It’s yours na lang.” She was confused for a second, even blurting out, “Huh?” Then he got down on one knee, and the answer was, of course, yes.

Their wedding day became, in Rosenthal’s words, “a production of love.” Ryan helped bring to life the wedding she had always imagined: a fully draped ballroom filled with rolls of fabric, chandeliers, floating candles, and details that felt cinematic without losing intimacy. The design drew from the sun-drenched floral fields of Provence, softened with orchids, barley, and unexpected textures.

Rosenthal’s bridal look was deeply personal. She wore her mother’s vintage diamond and pearl earrings and pearl choker as her “something old” and “something borrowed.” Her “something blue” was her own soft ice-blue wedding gown, finished with ivory beaded lace and handcrafted frosted tulle roses.

At the reception, the Grand Ballroom of Manila Marriott transformed into an Old World European garden glowing with candlelight. There were tearful speeches, a serenade from Rosenthal’s mother, a lively family dance from Ryan’s side, and finally, a disco-ball afterparty where everyone let loose.

For Ryan and Rosenthal, the day was unforgettable not only because it was beautiful, but because every detail was felt. It was love, effort, family, and full-on main character energy—all in one magical night.
