Featuring Ryan Stacey Chua and Desiree Glydale Sy

From the very beginning, Ryan and Dale’s love story unfolded with a quiet sense of intention. Moments aligning just when they mattered most. That feeling became unmistakable during their engagement in November, set against the serene beauty of Shinjuku Gyo-en in Japan, a place the couple had long associated with comfort and shared memories

Japan had always been their escape, so when Ryan learned that Dale would be there with her family, he knew it was the perfect place to propose. Months before the trip, he discreetly booked a photographer for what he described as a simple autumn shoot. The timing felt almost magical. After days of rain and gloomy forecasts, the chosen date emerged as the only clear, sunlit day of the entire vacation. Beneath a lone tree glowing with amber leaves, Ryan knelt and asked Dale to marry him.

“It felt like the universe opened a perfect window just for us,” shares Dale.

That same sense of grace carried into their wedding day. Their ceremony was held at Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish in Quezon City; intimate, solemn, and deeply personal.

Two priests close to their families concelebrated the Mass, including the main officiant who had known Dale since she was thirteen.

“Having him there felt like a blessing I had always hoped for,” she said.

As sunlight gave way to a sudden downpour mid-ceremony, the rain felt less like an interruption and more like a benediction.

When the couple exited the church, the skies cleared, and a double rainbow appeared. “It was a moment of quiet awe,” Dale recalled, “as if nature itself was celebrating with us.”

The evening reception unfolded as a reflection of who they are, modern yet timeless.

Inspired by Ryan’s love for jazz, the ballroom transformed into an elegant jazz lounge, complete with live big band music. Food, a constant thread in their relationship, became part of the storytelling through table names inspired by meaningful restaurants from their journey. Thoughtful surprises followed, from a vintage photobooth to a playful racing simulation, capturing Ryan’s passions and delighting their guests.

Family remained at the heart of the celebration. One of the most touching moments came when Dale honored her mother with a simple bouquet after the father-daughter dance.

“It was my way of saying that even as I begin a new chapter, she will always be my home,” she shared.

The reception became another expression of the couple’s desire to center their wedding on family. Through thoughtfully prepared production numbers and dance sequences performed by the couple, their friends, and their loved ones, the evening unfolded as a shared celebration rather than a formal program.

Even the hosts, Atom and Trina, took part by serenading the crowd, blurring the line between performers and guests. What emerged was an atmosphere that felt deeply personal, where everyone present was made to feel less like an audience and more like family.

Looking back, Dale describes their wedding in one word: heartfelt. It was a day shaped not just by beauty and detail, but by gratitude, presence, and love. A beginning wrapped in intention, and a promise carried forward by everyone who witnessed it.
