Sanjeev and Geetan’s love story reads like fate aligning the stars just for them. Though they both attended De La Salle University, their paths didn’t cross until a mutual friend started telling them about each other in 2019. It wasn’t until February 2020, at a party, that they officially met. Instantly bonding over their love for food, especially La Grotta’s iconic truffle pasta, their connection blossomed. Despite the pandemic hitting after only two dates, they got creative with ways to stay connected, going grocery shopping together and building a strong foundation.

Fast forward to June 2021, Sanjeev planned a surprise proposal, nervously coordinating with Geetan’s friend to cancel her weekend plans. The proposal took place in Dust Makati’s outdoor area, followed by a dinner with their families—a perfect way to start their journey toward marriage.

Their wedding, a grand three-day Indian celebration at Shang Fort in July 2022, was a vibrant reflection of their personalities and roots. They infused traditional Indian themes with elements personal to them. The Mehendi/Engagement ceremony was Mela-themed, a Hindi word for a fair, symbolizing the vibrant, colorful gathering of loved ones. The festivities featured dance performances, henna application stations, and delicious Indian street food. Sanjeev’s love for movies inspired their Youngsters Party—a Hollywood/Bollywood bash where guests came dressed as their favorite movie characters, making the night unforgettable.

The wedding ceremony itself was themed “Royal in Jaipury Pink,” honoring Jaipur, India’s Pink City, and Geetan’s mother’s hometown. All guests wore pink, creating a visually stunning and sentimental scene. Their final theme, “When Stars Align,” perfectly captured the magic of their love story, celebrating the serendipity that brought them together

There were plenty of memorable moments, from the sprinkling mishap that soaked Sanjeev’s off-white sherwani hours before the wedding to the joyous chaos of his baraat parade through BGC. It was a true “Big Fat Indian Wedding,” packed with music, dance, and love.

Sanjeev and Geetan’s wedding was a celebration not just of their love but of the deep ties that bind their family, friends, and heritage. Through meaningful touches like the lotus flower candle holders and curated menus, they gave their guests a truly unique, unforgettable experience.
