Set within the timeless grandeur of The Manila Hotel, Kathy Sy-King reimagines the storied venue as a haven of romance and refined cultural elegance. Its classic architecture and rich heritage become the perfect canvas, stately yet softened by a design that feels intimate, ethereal, and deeply considered.

At the heart of the setting is a long mirrored banquet table that captures and reflects every exquisite detail. Lush arrangements of blush-toned blooms: roses, ranunculus, and hydrangeas, cascade generously across the tabletop and spill onto the floor, forming a seamless floral landscape that feels organic yet meticulously styled.

The mirrored surface amplifies the abundance, creating the illusion of endless blooms stretching beyond the eye.
Overhead, soft peach drapery envelops the space in a warm, flattering glow, gently diffusing the light against the venue’s historic interiors. Crystal chandeliers shimmer like suspended gems, adding brilliance and contrast to the softness below.

At the center, a blush lantern adorned with delicate tassels serves as both focal point and a subtle homage to Oriental design, grounding the aesthetic in cultural nuance.
Each place setting is thoughtfully curated: gold-rimmed chargers, gleaming glassware, and plush chairs in pale pink tones lend a quiet sense of luxury to the dining experience. Beyond the table, a softly illuminated backdrop dressed in florals and sculptural accents completes the scene, an elegant vignette ideal for an intimate reception within the hotel’s grand halls.

The Write Impression crafts delicate pastel invitations with floral borders, calligraphy, and a gold double happiness seal, exuding timeless romance.

Chef Sun Bing of The Manila Hotel’s Red Jade presents an opulent Oriental feast, beginning with the Old Beijing-style shark’s fin nobleman soup, followed by a roasting trio of suckling pig, roast duck, and jellyfish salad. Highlights include baby lobster with almond flakes, scallop and shrimp mousse, and steamed sea bass with pickled turnip.
Richer courses unfold with fried rice and baby abalone in pumpkin sauce, and wok-fried wagyu in black honey pepper glaze, before a refreshing close of chilled coconut jelly with avocado.

Completing the narrative, the cake by Mannix Peña stands as a tribute to the richness of Filipino-Chinese heritage; more than a sweet finale, it is a sculptural centerpiece that echoes the celebration’s elegance and cultural depth.
