In Bloom: Michael Leyva’s latest couture collection honors love, legacy, and life

Michael Leyva Couture 2026, “Memoria ng Hardin,” unfolds as a heartfelt homage to love and legacy, woven intricately into every thread and motif. Inspired by the enduring memory of his late brother Brian Leyva, Michael’s designs transcend fashion, becoming a canvas where emotion and artistry converge.

In each gown and ensemble, Michael’s craftsmanship shines with symbolic depth. Roses and vine-like grapes intertwine, symbolizing the beauty and joy Brian brought into his life. These elements, delicately rendered with fringes that whisper tales of the past, evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. As Michael meticulously weaves these elements together, his creations bloom into vibrant, gravity-defying forms, embodying the transformative power of cherished memories.

Central to the collection are metal body forms, a testament to the strong bond between brothers—a symbol of protection and unity. Rooted in faith and familial love, these designs echo the biblical verse, “I am the vine; you are the branches” (John 15:5), bearing fruit that embodies Brian’s enduring legacy.

“Memoria ng Hardin,” translated as “Memory of the Garden,” encapsulates the essence of Michael Leyva’s vision. It is a title steeped in Tagalog, resonating with themes of remembrance and the fleeting beauty of life. Through maximalist opulence and intricate detailing, Michael celebrates life’s richness, ensuring his Kuya Brian’s spirit thrives within each creation.

Directed by Robby Carmona and captured by Niceprint Photography, the collection’s presentation is a testament to its grandeur. Styled by Rey Santos Jr., with hair and makeup by Momoi Supe of Strokes Beauty PH, and set design by Gideon Hermosa, every detail reflects Michael’s dedication to storytelling through couture.

As “Memoria ng Hardin” unfolds at The Peninsula Manila, curated by Saga Events and coordinated by COTE, Michael Leyva invites the world to embrace a narrative of love, joy, and inspiration. His designs not only adorn but also narrate—a testament to the enduring power of love and the beauty of memories that bloom eternally in our hearts.
