KaladKaren and Luke Wrightson’s wedding was nothing short of magical—just like a mermaid coming out from a dream. Their love story, spanning years, has finally reached the big day– on September 8, with KaladKaren gliding down the aisle in a stunning mermaid-cut gown by Francis Libiran, fulfilling her childhood fantasy of becoming a mythical sea creature.
KaladKaren shared on Instagram, reminiscing about her younger days spent pretending to have fins.
“Love always wins and dreams do come true! ❤️🌈”
“Noong bata ako gusto kong maging isang sirena. Fantasy ko si Dyesebel, Ariel at Marina. I even remember putting my legs into pillowcases to pretend to have fins!” she reminisced. “Sabi ko sa sarili ko, if ever I get married one day, I will make sure I’ll wear an immaculate mermaid cut bridal dress. And… it came true! On our wedding day, that mermaid wasn’t in the sea… but in a sea of clouds!”
The dreamy clifftop venue in Yorkshire, England, was blanketed in thick fog, a rare but enchanting backdrop that only added to the magical atmosphere. Though the couple had hoped for a sun-filled day, the misty clouds gave their celebration a surreal, intimate feel. It was as if the heavens had conspired to create a setting as ethereal as KaladKaren’s vision.
Their love story began years ago, with Luke’s first proposal during the pandemic lockdown. Without the fanfare of a proper photoshoot, they made the best of it, staying close in their apartment. However, Luke made sure to give KaladKaren a picture-perfect moment during their prenuptial shoot in London, proposing again, this time against the backdrop of their favorite city.
On their wedding day, KaladKaren and Luke stood hand in hand, surrounded by loved ones, their bond stronger than ever. Like the mythical sirens of Philippine folklore, their love seemed destined to guard and protect. The Wrightsons’ union was a true testament to love’s enduring power, with a wedding day straight out of a fairytale, reminding us all that, in the end, love always wins.
