It has been nine years since actress and global fashion influencer Heart Evangelista and Senator Chiz Escudero got married in Balesin—Feb. 15, 2015.

Nine years later, the couple chose to have their renewal of vows on the same day, at the same venue, with the same makeup artist. We asked Albert Kurniawan how the look has evolved nine years after.

“In 2015, we were looking for that soft glam, very glamorous makeup look to go with Ezra gown. It  was an ‘extra’ gown full of lace. So, basically, nothing much—no sequins or crystals or beads. That’s why we went for a glamorous makeup look,” Albert reminisces. “After weeks of planning with Heart where she called me up about her idea, and with me seeing the gown that’s fully fitted and super couture, we decided to showcase her beautiful skin.”

For the face
“Semi-dewy and since she’s not oily, that’s why we went for semi-dewy skin. At the same time, I went for the very diffused apricot color blush-on, across her cheeks until the side and tip of her nose for the cool look. Lamig-lamig or sipon-sipunan look. I think in Tiktok, it’s called the Igari look.

Albert revealed that he used Aivee Bright Eyes Mask, Aivee Crystal Mask, Skin Poem Hydrating and Brightening Mist, Teviant Ultimate Skin Master Luminous Radiant Primer, Teviant Ultimate Skin Master Foundation in Nude, Teviant Ultimate Skin Master Concealer in Lisbon, MAC powder in NC30, and Teviant Ultimate Skin Master Illuminating Loose Powder.

For the cheeks, Albert used Teviant Deity Dust Trio Face Palette in First Date to contour, highlight, and apply blush.

For the eyes
They say that the eyes are the window of the soul, and Albert did a great job making Heart’s eyes sparkle that day. “For the eyes, we decided to go for a light colored, frosted eyeshadow that I got from the Bobby Brown palette,” he starts. “Of course, there’s no Heart Evangelista without eyeliner. So, what we did is we used the graphic eyeliner and popped the eyes a bit.”

Albert used the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palette in Amber Light, Teviant Eye Intensifier in Nipah, Teviant Liquid Pen Liner in Virago, Makeup by Mario eyeshadow in black, Strokes Brow Gel, and Teviant Brow Duo in Queen.

“For the brows, we went for subtle—light and semi-brushed, but not laminated, because I think that’s so 2022. Just brushed up lang, and then, after that, I just filled in the gap.”

For the lips
Heart’s lips are a statement as well, and Albert revealed, “I went for a satin finish—just a neutral color.” He shares the following products used—La Mer Lip balm, MAC Cosmetics Lip Liner in Mac Spice, with lipstick base in Teviant Velvet Drop in Sex Appeal and topped it off with Bobby Brown Lipstick in Rosewood. Last product is Chanel Lipgloss in Beige Star 206.”

Sealing the look
Albert used Scott Barnes Downright Dew Mist as the fixing spray to seal the look.

Retouching
“Heart’s face is not oily at all, so the only thing we did before the reception was use the Teviant Deity Dual Face Palette in First Date and Bobby Brown Lipstick in Rosewood.”
