The 67th Miss Universe Pageant took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday, December 17, 2018, and it didn’t disappoint, especially when it came to the dresses.

Ninety-four of the world’s most beautiful women competed in what is considered to be the most prestigious pageant of its kind. Only ten contestants were chosen to showcase their evening gown looks in front of thousands of at the venue and millions worldwide. The top ten girls were: Miss Nepal, Miss Costa Rica, Miss Puerto Rico, Miss Thailand, Miss Canada, Miss Curacao, Miss Vietnam, Miss Venezuela, Miss South Africa and this year’s crowned winner, Miss Philippines, Catriona Gray.

There was no shortage of crystals and sequins at the glamorous event that WE’ve chosen bridal looks worth considering. The eventual winner wowed the crowd in her fiery Mak Tumang number but during the three-hour presentation – silver reigned supreme!

Miss Nepal, Manita Devtoka

During the preliminary competition, a few days prior to the finals, Manita wore a creation by Filipino designer – Bea Bianca Mackey inspired by the Himalayas with golden tassels and linear patterns.  For the finals, she chose a single-sleeve white dress featuring beaded accents and an orange ombre underskirt. The design is simple but could work as a wedding gown for someone who wants to introduce more color instead of traditional white.

Miss Puerto Rico, Kiara Ortega

Kiara wore the same silver dress for prelims and finals. Her shimmering full-length gown with a deep V-neckline and cap sleeves was from Sherri Hill.  It was perhaps the most wearable bridal look from the competition.

Miss Curacao, Akisha Albert

One of the most elegant candidates this edition is the statuesque Akisha Albert who looked so polished in her Alejandro Fajardo creation. The Venezuelan designer created a form-fitting fully embellished gown over illusion mesh with cutouts and an interesting neckline perfect for a bride who wants to stand out and sparkle.

Miss Vietnam, H’Hen Nie

H’Hen Nie wore a sexy form-fitting gown in crystalized silver by Vietnamese evening gown designer Linh San of Linh San Couture. The gown not only had mesh sleeves with interesting beaded details in a horizontal pattern, but it also has an open back which made the gown more sensual. This could be a bridal look for someone bold and comfortable in her own skin.

Miss Venezuela, Sthefany Gutierrez

Sthefany did not disappoint with her nude mesh gown designed by Nidal Nouaihed. The dazzling creation is exactly what was expected for a Venezuelan delegate. The gown was hand-embroidered with over ten thousand crystals in gradient tones of honey, gold, silver, and pink. The high shine, high impact gown looked like a spectacular display of fireworks.

Miss Canada, Marta Magdalena Stepien

Marta wowed the crowd with her spectacular couture creation by Michael Cinco. The champagne-colored frock featured a fully embellished column gown that fit her to a tee. She added a multi-tiered overskirt that transformed the original silhouette of the gown for maximum drama.

Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green

Tamaryn wore one of the more fashion-forward looks at the competition with her minimalist strapless number by a South African label – Galluzzi E Gini. Devoid of any patterns, the silver gown made from crystalized fabric looked like a sleek cross between a Versace and an Armani. It was strapless with a high slit and a goddess-like drape detail. It’s a perfect silhouette for a modern or a minimalist bride who still wants to shine without being bothered by frilly details.
