Now on its ninth edition, Marry Me at Marriott continues to be the talk of the metro. Held last June 23, 2023, The receiving area of the Grand Ballroom was dressed up for guests to enjoy vignettes showcased by wedding stylists such as Tiger Weddings and Events by Tiger Lim, EventStyles by Kathy Sy-King, Kyno Kho Flowers and Events, Stan Creative Designs, Miel’s Flowershoppe and Event Styling, 2171 Floral Creations, and Concept+Design by Pio Herras—all curated by COTE Events.

Mounted by SAGA events, a tree of life takes centerstage, “branching out to timeless memories,” such as this milestone of getting married. And the right choice of bridal gown can make all the difference, too! For this year’s edition, Marriott invited six fashion designers lo showcase their works: Ezra Santos, Val Taguba, Rhetta Lala, Jaggy Glarino, Albert Andrada, and Jezelle Amorado.

Val Taguba

The show started with the collection of Val Taguba, who is known for designing ball gowns that make grand entrances. And did they sparkle! “A winning moment is seeing my bride confident and beautiful wearing my gown,” he says.

Ezra Santos

“Creating wedding dresses is always a winning moment for me,” shares Ezra Santos who revealed that it’s his first time to do a wedding show in Manila. “I would like the brides to feel the best that they could be on their wedding day. You have to be the most beautiful bride. And being a designer, I will do my best to create something wonderful for every bride.”

Rhett Eala

“You concentrate mainly on good fabric and good silhouettes,” Rhett Eala explains. “How the woman feels is the winning moment—when everything comes together for you.”

Jaggy Glarino

Jaggy Glarino shares that this collection is more of taking the 1950s artistry and brings it to the next generation. “We’re harnessing all the techniques, the fabrication in making it alive on this day,” he shares. “A winning moment for me in terms of design is harnessing an idea and margin it into something tangible and beautiful that women could wear and live in. And I think that’s a success story—if a woman feels good and empowered.”

Albert Andrada

“It’s always traditional to wear white, but for me, I think pastels will be a good idea. It will be softer and more feminine,” says Albert Andrada. “The winning moment is when you see your audience appreciate the connection, especially on an international platform which goes to show that Filipinos are very talented.”

Jezelle Amorado

“So my career, everything that led up to this is a complete love story for me,” shares Jezelle Amorado. Her pieces are made of classic silhouettes with interesting details that reflect her designing DNA. “A winning moment is something that encapsulates your emotions, your memories, and who you are as a person. It lasts a lifetime.”

“Here I am joined by some lovely looking people a few years ago in one of the earlier editions, and we will say that we are the only Marriott Hotel in the Philippines then. But, now, we’ve got seven open and operating venues. We got three more openings this year. And we have a pipeline of 15 hotels for the coming few years. So, we are very, very excited to bring you more options, more venues, more locations for these winning marrying moments. So exciting times ahead,” shares Marriott International Multi-Property Vice President—Philippines Bruce Winton on stage.

This event is in collaboration with Marriott Hotel Manila’s sister hotels, Sheraton Manila Hotel, Clark Marriott Hotel, Sheraton Manila Bay, Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, The Westin Manila, and in cooperation with Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, Four Points by Sheraton Palawan Puerto Princesa, and Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mandaue.
