The ABS-CBN Ball, which was held last September 29 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, was a gathering of more than 500 stars and local celebrities. The attendees, who were dressed to the nines, accessorized in jaw-dropping fine jewelry from some of the country’s best gemologists and renowned jewelry houses.
Now that the dust has settled and the list for the evening’s best and worst dressed celebrities has been published and discussed, stylists have started breaking down the components of their celebrity clientele’s look allowing us to present jewelry trends for our brides or ring-hunting future fiancés.

The Statement Necklace
A number of celebrities wore gowns without any embellishments opting to wear statement necklaces instead for maximum impact.
Teen royalty of the 90’s – Jolina Magdangal who was pretty in pink in her Jo Rubio creation reportedly wore one of the evening’s most expensive pieces of jewelry. Her piece de resistance from jeweler – JJ Jiao was a 7-digit choker necklace of 18k white gold with white diamonds at 23.55 carats. It had a fancy yellow oval diamond pendant surrounded by a halo of smaller white diamonds at 6.02 carats.

The evening produced some of the most spectacular gems ever to be seen by the mainstream public from vivid pink diamonds to a heart-stopping Asscher cut diamond ring.
Tessera Jewelry, makers of the now iconic ear cuff worn by Miss Universe-Philippine 2018, Catriona Gray provided jewelry for a number of attendees but perhaps the most talked about pieces of the night was worn by none other than seasoned actress – Judy Ann Santos-Agoncilllo who stunned the crowd in a flirty Oscar de la Renta emerald green gown dripping in 87 carats of blinding white diamonds reportedly worth PHP94,000,000. The biggest diamond of the night was a 35-carat Asscher cut diamond ring she wore valued at a whopping 60,000,000PHP.

Jessy Mendiola, the alabaster-skinned actress wore a sparkly creation by Patricia Santos in shades of nude, gold, and cognac. Julia Barretto, who was in a mini dress by Mark Bumgarner, channeled her inner Paris Hilton and completed her look with an impressive layer of chokers of more than 100 carats from Tessera Jewelry. Alex Gonzaga wore her diamond links in layers from Stardust Fine Jewelry to complement her fun and flirty Rajo Laurel ensemble. The likes of Liza Soberano and Ylona Garcia opted for single-stranded tennis necklaces to add a bit of glam to their feminine styling.

The always fashion-forward Anne Curtis may have not worn the evening’s biggest rocks but she made such an impact with her Celestial Coronet from accessories designer – Jennifer Behr. The headpiece, made from a constellation of handset Swarovski crystals stars became one of the most covetable accessories of the night is said to be tagged at $1,125.
