Featuring Dr. Regie Alexis Jordan G. Quinagon and Karen P. Qua Fernando RN, RM
Love often blooms in the quietest of places, and for Dr. Regie Alexis Jordan G. Quinagon and Karen P. Qua Fernando, it began in the hallways of a hospital in Bicol. He was a young surgery resident, and she was a dedicated nurse in the surgical ward. “It was not love at first sight,” Regie recalled.

“We only exchanged short, work-related conversations.” Karen remembered him as “a thinly, but not frail, doctor—always on the move, caring for his patients,” while he described her as “like a fairy, small in stature, snow-white skin, and eyes that sparkled with focus and professionalism.”

Though their paths diverged for a time, fate brought them back together in a hospital in Laguna. Being the only familiar faces in a new environment rekindled their friendship, which eventually blossomed into love.
Their daughter, Kara, became the sweetest chapter of their story, and years later, she even played a role in Regie’s long-awaited proposal.

After several failed attempts due to storms and timing, he finally asked for Karen’s hand at Shangri-La, with Kara as his accomplice. “Simple,” Karen smiled, “but unforgettable.”
When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple knew one thing, it had to be uniquely theirs. “We both agreed to show a ‘Not Your Typical Wedding’ celebration,” they shared.

Their love for K-dramas, films, games, and even superheroes became part of the theme. Invitations were designed like a gamer’s folder, cleverly styled as an elegant medical prescription inside.
Their gallery featured movie-poster-inspired photos, from zombie hunts to Spiderman adventures. “We haven’t seen anyone do this before, so it felt so perfectly ‘us,’” Regie said.

The wedding motif combined navy blue and canary yellow, colors special to them, even reflected in their clinic. Karen hand-made the entourage flowers, while their entrance stunned guests with a full-on dance performance that included aerial hoops and a K-pop routine with Kara.

“No nervousness, no worries—just fun, tears, and laughs,” they both recalled.
The most miraculous part came on the wedding day itself. Despite days of heavy rain, the skies cleared just in time for their garden ceremony. Bishop Ferreira’s heartfelt homily left guests moved, while the couple’s playful cake-feeding, ending with Regie catching a slice midair, became unforgettable.

“Our theme of ‘Not Your Typical Wedding’ reflects us completely,” they said. “It was fun, a little crazy, but full of love and emotion. Seeing our guests smiling until the very end made every effort worth it. Truly, it was a celebration we will cherish all our lives.”
