Featuring David Andrew Alonzo and Denize Nicole Alonzo
Some love stories begin with grand gestures. Others start quietly, in a classroom where two children barely old enough to spell their names were told to hold hands. For David and Denize, that simple pairing in Grade 1 and 2 became the earliest thread of a bond neither could have understood at the time.

Life moved on, as childhood memories often do, until fate brought them back together in high school. What began as easy conversations soon deepened into something more. One ordinary dismissal afternoon at the school quadrangle became a turning point: a week after David asked permission to court her, Denize said yes. Even in that youthful moment, she knew her answer came from a place of certainty.

College placed them in separate universities along Taft Avenue, but distance never was a bother with their growing connection. They built a rhythm that made sense only to them, LRT rides squeezed between classes, quick meals, shared deadlines, and even bigger shared dreams.

By 2018, they had saved enough for their first overseas trip to Hong Kong, a milestone that marked the beginning of many adventures shaped by independence, teamwork, and commitment.
Years of choosing each other made one promise feel inevitable. True to his word that he would propose before Denize turned 30, David planned a moment rooted in meaning. On October 8, 2023, at The Peak of Grand Hyatt BGC, he knelt with both their families standing as witnesses.

The sky, washed in soft colors after a passing rain, resembled the Northern Lights he once wished to show her. It felt, beautifully and unmistakably, like the universe’s quiet blessing.
Nearly two years later, David and Denize walked down the aisle of Santuario de San Jose Parish in Greenhills. The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, framed by a homily that honored their long journey and the tender presence of two empty seats reserved for Denize’s late grandparents. After the mass, the couple greeted guests with donuts and iced coffee, simple, comforting gestures that reflected who they are at their core.

Their Aurora-inspired reception at the Forbes Ballroom of Conrad Manila shimmered with soft lights, elegant hues, and the warmth of every person who had witnessed their 17-year love story unfold.
The night flowed with laughter, music, and moments that felt less like a grand production and more like a homecoming to each other, and to the life they had long envisioned.

Seventeen years after that childhood pairing, they sealed a promise that had quietly taken root long before they recognized its meaning.
