The engagement of Bradley Go and Christina Ong
For Bradley Go and Christina “Tin” Ong, their Ting Hun wasn’t just a ceremony, it was a reflection of who they are as a couple: private, intentional, and deeply family-centered.

While rooted in Chinese tradition, their celebration carried a gentle modernity, creating an experience that was both meaningful and unmistakably theirs.
“We’ve always been a more private and reserved couple,” Tin shares. “Intimate, heartfelt moments with the people closest to us hold the greatest value.”

With just around 110 of their nearest and dearest, their Ting Hun felt warm, genuine, and close to home, exactly how they envisioned it.
Their distinct personalities shone through in every detail. The blue color palette, Tin’s favorite set the tone for the day, while the menu featured the couple’s go-to dishes from Xiú. Even the music flowed with instrumentals of the songs they love.

“We’re particular about the small things,” Bradley admits with a smile. “A little maarte, maybe—but it made everything feel truly ours.”

They kept the heart of tradition intact, especially the beloved tea ceremony, but thoughtfully updated a few customs. Instead of presenting yards of cloth, they prepared 12 sets of ready-to-wear clothing, an intentional and practical nod to modern life.

“Our goal was to stay rooted in Chinese tradition while still reflecting who we are,” Bradley says. Moving the Ting Hun from Tin’s home to Xiú, one of their longtime favorite restaurants, added comfort and meaning without losing the essence of a traditional celebration.

Food, as in every Chinese occasion, played a symbolic role. Their ten-course menu fused Filipino-Chinese favorites like steamed lapu-lapu and cha misua with personal picks such as elephant clams and Singaporean prawns with mantou.
“We wanted a menu that symbolized prosperity and joy, but also felt warm and familiar,” Tin says. “It reflected both tradition and the happiness we felt in uniting our families.”

But beyond décor, rituals, and food, their priority was creating an experience their families would remember. With Bradley’s cousin hosting the program, a heartfelt prayer from one of their ninangs, and the couple personally greeting every guest, the celebration radiated sincerity.
“It wasn’t the grand gestures,” Tin reflects. “It was the shared stories and genuine interactions that made the day meaningful.”

A standout moment was Tin’s Sa-e flying in from Canada just to walk her backward during the ceremony, a touching gesture that left the couple deeply moved. “The effort our family made meant everything,” Bradley shares.
In the end, their Ting Hun was more than tradition, it was love, authenticity, and family woven into one unforgettable beginning.
