The Engagement of Justin Uy and Robyn See

For Justin and Robyn, their Ting Hun was more than a formality, it was a celebration of heritage, family, and love expressed in their own style.

“For us, the Ting Hun was about honoring tradition while adding touches that felt like us,” shared Robyn. “We kept the classic rituals, but incorporated modern details through the décor and styling.”

The couple held on to the essentials: the tea ceremony, exchange of gifts, and family introductions, that are symbols of unity, respect, and harmony.

At the same time, they chose to simplify some smaller customs, creating a flow that felt meaningful without being overwhelming.

Styling played a huge role in reflecting their personalities. Robyn, with her love for Amaranthus and anthuriums, made sure these blooms appeared everywhere, from the floral arrangements to her bouquet and even on their cake.

“I’ve been obsessed with them lately, so seeing them tied into the whole celebration was a dream,” she said.

With iMajic Events working alongside Kim & Louise from Paraluman World, tradition met modern artistry in a seamless blend.

The menu, prepared by Tjioie, carried both symbolism and flavor. Dishes like fish for abundance, noodles for longevity, and sweets for a blissful marriage grounded the occasion in tradition. To make things interactive, the couple added food carts.

“Love Dimsum served fresh dumplings, which are linked to prosperity and togetherness, while The Pod Coffee delighted guests with customized coffee froth prints,” Justin shared.

To top it off, an open bar kept spirits high.

Family remained at the heart of the celebration. Sweet treats like macarons and cookies carried their monogram and Ting Hun symbols, while one of Robyn’s best friends hosted, making the day even more personal.

“Seeing how touched and happy our families were made the day even more special,” she said.

The celebration came together with the help of Tinghun Tris, who guided the couple through every step, ensuring everything felt smooth and stress-free.

Backyard Productions captured every detail, giving Justin and Robyn memories to treasure for a lifetime.

“I love to brand everything,” Robyn laughed, sharing how even the angpaos, tablescapes, and backdrops tied into a consistent theme. Guests enjoyed not just the food carts and cocktails but also a photo booth that gave them keepsakes to take home.

Looking back, the couple agreed their Ting Hun was a reflection of what they value most: respect for tradition, creativity, and the joy of celebrating love with family.
