For Juancho and Ysabel, love began in the simplest way, through an introduction from Ysabel’s younger sister. What started as a coffee to thank Juancho for helping her land a new job blossomed into a full-day hangout and, eventually, into countless conversations that never seemed to end.
Even when Ysabel moved to Singapore just a week later, their story didn’t falter. Instead, it unfolded across time zones, flights, and video calls, a testament to a bond that only grew stronger despite the distance.
Juancho chose to propose in April 2024 in Singapore, a place that had become their “second home.” With a garden filled with photos from their travels and their favorite song playing in the background, he asked Ysabel to marry him in front of their closest friends. “It was so us—sweet, simple, and intimate,” Ysabel shared.
Their wedding took place in beautiful Bohol, where 150 guests from around the world joined them in a destination celebration. From the start, the couple infused their personalities into every detail. Guests received hand-designed floral fans by artist Georgina Camus, and Ysabel’s bridal entrance was accompanied by a stirring chorale version of Araw-Araw by Ben & Ben, performed by the Koro Seraphim choir.
The reception radiated joy in every sense. With a theme of vibrant, modern tropical chic, the couple embraced rattan, bamboo, and bold floral hues of orange, yellow, and green. In true Juancho and Ysabel fashion, there was just one dress code rule: no neutrals—only color. Handwritten notes at each place setting, quirky custom signage, and a program filled with surprise performances, including a song from Ysabel’s father and Juancho’s brother, made the night uniquely theirs.
What made the celebration unforgettable, however, was not just the design or the music, but the feeling it carried. “If I could sum up our wedding day in one word, I would say it was warm,” Ysabel reflected.
“We wanted every guest to feel loved, and to truly enjoy the weekend with us.”
That warmth culminated in their afterparty, where the dance floor became a melting pot of memories. Childhood friends, new acquaintances, and family danced shoulder-to-shoulder, celebrating not only Juancho and Ysabel’s union but the joy of love itself.
It was, as the couple described, a wedding with no pretenses, just genuine love, laughter, and the kind of happiness that lingers long after the music fades.
