When love calls for something extraordinary, Oman answers with golden deserts, dramatic coastlines, and centuries-old charm. Recently brought into the spotlight during the Cebu-Oman Investment Forum held at Fili Hotel in NUSTAR Cebu City, the Sultanate of Oman is making waves, not just in business, but in the world of weddings, pre-nups, and honeymoons.
Led by international relations advocate Mikaela Pacubas Yap and supported by the Omani Foreign Ministry and Oman Chamber of Commerce, the event showcased Oman’s commitment to global collaboration under its Vision 2040. While investment, trade, and innovation took center stage, it was clear that tourism, particularly lifestyle and wedding tourism, was poised for its own transformation.

“Oman is truly a hidden gem for destination weddings and honeymoons,” shares Stanz Catalan, an international weddings and events expert. “Its majestic landscapes, rich culture, and unmatched hospitality create an experience that’s both intimate and extraordinary. For couples seeking something meaningful and magical, Oman offers a setting that goes beyond the ordinary.”

From the quiet elegance of the Al Hajar Mountains to the golden glow of Wahiba Sands and the pristine beaches of Salalah, Oman provides stunning backdrops for pre-nup shoots and unforgettable wedding ceremonies. Luxury resorts, historic venues, and natural wonders create endless possibilities, whether you envision an opulent celebration or a serene honeymoon under desert stars.
In a press briefing, Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi announced a major development: Filipinos can now visit Oman visa-free for up to two weeks. Plans are also underway to open a consulate in Cebu, increase direct flights, and hold future bilateral forums, reinforcing the growing bond between the two nations.

According to Mikaela, “People can look forward to the Oman-Cebu forum in Oman in 2026, the opening of the consulate office in Cebu, and the rollout of the golden visa program. These are exciting developments that will make investment and cultural exchange more accessible for Filipinos.”

As the event concluded, Mikaela offered a heartfelt message:
“I invite all Filipinos to visit Oman for its natural beauty, culture, and people. It has become my favorite country in the world. And I invite businessmen looking to diversify to look at Oman as a top viable option.”

For couples seeking a one-of-a-kind experience, Oman is more than a destination, it’s a love story waiting to unfold.
