Featuring Ash Suazo and Louisse Valiente
Their story began quietly in 2012—two Accountancy students at university in Cebu, drawn together not by grand gestures, but by passing glances and shoe taps under a library table. Ash, the expressive “wild peacock,” noticed Louisse instantly. “She was outstanding amidst her silence,” he recalled. It took years—stolen moments, a texted “I love you,” and Louisse’s emoji reply that masked tears of happiness—before they would officially become a couple on Christmas Day of 2015.

The odds weren’t always in their favor. “The land we grew up on doesn’t take on universal love easily,” Louisse shared. But love endured. On February 23, 2020, surrounded by her family during a casual trip to Busay, Ash proposed through tears, a bouquet, and the timeless promise of This I Promise You playing in the background.

On May 22, 2025, after migrating to Australia and building a new chapter together, they exchanged vows at Immerse in the Yarra Valley—a venue that, like their love, needed no embellishment to be breathtaking. “We just felt it,” said Louisse.

The theme—dusty blue and beige—mirrored Louisse’s love for art and their shared calm, grounded personalities. “Dusty blue reflects our love for nature and calmness; beige for simplicity and elegance,” Ash explained. Their cake resembled an abstract canvas, while the bride’s bouquet and seasonal autumn leaves played into the serene, earthy palette.

The celebration, though thousands of miles away from home, carried Filipino traditions: the veil, cord, arras, and candle ceremony symbolizing Louisse’s union with the Suazo family. In a heartfelt detail, the candles bore their family names.

Unforgettable moments marked the day: the veil Louisse forgot to wear (and no one noticed), the couple’s synchronized vows ending with “always, and in all ways,” and a first dance that triggered the smoke alarm due to the dry ice machine—turning laughter into the perfect soundtrack.
From hand-painted invitations designed by Louisse herself, to scratch cards hidden in guests’ place cards with the playful message “We tied the knot, and we hope you get lucky tonight!”—every detail was undeniably them.

Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration of love. It was a masterpiece ten years in the making—intentional, joyful, and beautifully their own.
