Featuring Miguel Sotto and Jazmin Reyes

Eight years ago, fate (and a little irony) brought Miguel Sotto and Jazmin Reyes together at a bar called Finders Keepers. “Ironic,” Jazmin laughs, “because I did end up finding a keeper.”

Though Miguel insists they had met three times prior, it was that night—with conversation flowing from 6PM to 2AM—that their story truly began. “He thought I was a writer and wanted to pick my brain for a script. That night turned into a lifetime,” she shares.

Their engagement, as theatrical as their love story, took place “in heaven”—a literal set built by Miguel’s production company, Cimago TV. “He knew he could never lie to me, so he built an entire fake ad campaign to throw me off. It was the only way he could really surprise me,” Jazmin recalls.

When it came time to plan the wedding, the couple had one rule: break all the rules. “If it’s traditional, we wanted to throw it out the window,” said Jazmin. What followed was a celebration that was less a ceremony and more a deeply cinematic, hyper-personal expression of who they are.

From bread-shaped invitations stamped with their custom emblem to edible centerpieces made of sitaw and puso ng saging, the details were refreshingly unorthodox. Their Directorial Menu mirrored a screenplay: “Opening Credits” for the salad, “Climax” for the steak, and “Finale” for dessert. Their main stage drew inspiration from their Chinese Tinghun in Lijiang, with a Guzheng master playing live—including a Celine Dion number that erupted into a surprise KTV-style singalong.

The day was filled with moments only they could have pulled off: wedding hosts who were Jazmin’s former radio partners (and exes), a grand entourage entrance reminiscent of The Princess Diaries, a red-lit venue curated with synth interstellar vibes, and a foot-popping kiss.

But the true standout moments were the unscripted ones: a surprise birthday celebration for Miguel complete with dinosaur cakes, a cake-drop turned comedy moment, drag queens getting titas on the dance floor, and a father-daughter dance Jazmin never thought she’d have—twice—with her father battling cancer.

“Honestly, what made it unforgettable wasn’t the elements you can buy,” Jazmin reflects. “It was the people—their energy, their love, their joy. That’s what turned our wedding into something cinematic. Not just to watch, but to feel.”

Their theme? Anti-traditional, hyper-personal. A love letter to each other and to everyone who’s ever been part of their story. “It wasn’t for Pinterest,” Jazmin smiles. “It was for us. And maybe that’s why it felt like magic.”
