WE tips for writing a wedding invitation:
Start with the Hosts
Traditionally, the couple’s parents or the couple themselves extend the invitation.
Example: Mr. and Mrs. Reyes invite you to celebrate the wedding of their daughter…
Clearly State the Couple’s Names
Use full names for formality or first names for a more casual tone.
Example: Juan and Maria invite you to celebrate their I do’s.
Always make sure that the groom’s name comes first then followed by the bride’s name.
Include essential details
Date, time, and venue should be clearly stated.
Example: Saturday, June 15, 2025 | 4:00 PM | Maynila Ballroom of The Manila Hotel
A print out of the map is optional.
Set the Tone
Keep it formal, semi-formal, or casual based on the wedding style.
Example: A night of love and laughter awaits… (Casual) vs. With joy in their hearts, they invite you to witness their union… (Formal)
Mention the Reception
If it follows immediately, say: Reception to follow. If elsewhere, provide details: Dinner and dancing at Villa Escudero, 7:00 PM.
Dress Code
Add a subtle note if there’s a dress code: Formal attire requested.
Other inserts
You may opt to include stationery inserts such as your RSVP card and seat assignment.
Make it clear how guests should respond: Kindly confirm by May 15, 2025, via [mobile number]
For Limited Seats:
“Due to the intimacy of our celebration, we kindly request that invitations be honored by [name of guest] . We reserved [1] seat for you. Thank you for understanding!”
Or
“As much as we’d love to celebrate with everyone, we have limited seats and hope for your kind understanding. We reserved [1] seat for you. “
For Monetary Gifts:
“Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for. However, if you wish to honor us with a gift, a contribution to our future together would be truly appreciated.”
Or
“We are blessed with everything we need, so in place of traditional gifts, we would be grateful for your kindness in helping us build our future.”
