Two overworked and sleep-deprived medical interns, simply trying to survive the grind, found solace in each other’s company. Initially, it was about getting through tough shifts together—sharing quick laughs, stolen snacks, and quiet conversations in between rounds. But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into years, those fleeting moments grew into a bond that could weather any storm.
After seven years of shared victories and challenges, Reuben knew it was time to make things official. In 2022, during a cherished trip to Japan, he planned the perfect proposal in the tranquil beauty of Sapporo. Against a backdrop of snowy serenity, he asked Arianne to be his wife—a simple yet heartfelt moment that reflected their deep connection.
Planning their wedding has been a journey. With Reuben hailing from Isabela and Arianne from Pampanga, the couple chose Tagaytay as the middle ground to bring their families together. The logistics were a challenge, but they embraced every obstacle as a lesson in patience and teamwork—a preview, perhaps, of the marriage they’re about to embark on.
One of their fondest memories from this process has been their late-night planning sessions. Arianne’s playful smile and her signature question, “Hindi ka ba nagugutom?” would prompt Reuben to whip up her favorite snacks, from instant ramyeon to tteokbokki. These seemingly mundane moments became a cherished ritual, reminding them that love is often found in the simplest acts of care.
A highlight of their pre-wedding journey was an impromptu engagement shoot in Sapporo. Originally unplanned, the decision to document their love story in the city where Reuben proposed added a magical touch to their wedding preparations. It became a poetic prelude to their big day, underscoring how their journey together has always been about finding beauty in the unexpected.
