Featuring Jonathan and Eleanor Ng
Jonathan and Eleanor, affectionately called Jonats and El by friends, have a love story that beautifully reflects serendipity and destiny. Their journey began as grade school batchmates who hardly spoke to each other despite sharing classrooms until high school.
Their different social circles kept them apart, and life moved on, until the unexpected happened—an online encounter sparked by a simple COVID vaccine update during the pandemic.
El, a health professional, posted about her vaccine on Facebook, catching Jonats’ attention and initiating a conversation that reignited their connection. A year of casual chats grew into something more meaningful, culminating in a coffee shop meeting where Jonats lent her a book. From there, their bond flourished through driving lessons, mall dates, and shared laughter. On one of their driving lessons at a mall parking lot, Jonats made his feelings official, asking El to be his girlfriend.
Fourteen months later, Jonats planned a heartfelt proposal during their Binondo food trip—a nod to their shared love of food adventures. In a nostalgic spot at Escolta, he proposed with the help of friends who set the stage with lights, music, and memories captured in photos. El said “yes,” sealing their forever.
A Celebration of Love and Simplicity
Their wedding, held at Grace Christian Church of the Philippines, a place of shared memories from their school days, was a perfect reflection of their personalities. The couple chose a sage green and mauve pink motif—El’s favorite color paired with a romantic accent. Their entourage donned shades of green, while the godparents wore mauve, seamlessly tying together the elegant theme.
True to their introverted nature, Jonats and El chose not to have a VIP table. Instead, they sat with family and friends, ensuring an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
Personal Touches That Made the Day
The wedding day brimmed with details that showcased their unique story. A growing-up video highlighted their journey from an online chat to “I do.” Their prenup video, featuring reenactments of weekly dates, added a touch of nostalgia.
Music played a central role, with their first dance featuring a mix of songs, including their theme, “Forevermore,” and a K-pop hit. Their vows, heartfelt and humorous, left guests teary-eyed and became a highlight of the SDE video.
From perfect weather to the much-loved Piggy Buns for dessert, everything fell into place. The couple’s neon photo wall emblazoned with “Forevermore” encapsulated their dreamy, love-filled day—a wedding simple yet unforgettable.
