Featuring Emil Lim Wang and Renelle Dy

Emil and his bride’s love story began in 2013, not through a formal introduction but through a shared acquaintance, a mutual friend who would later be the man of honor at their wedding. Emil noticed her at a gathering and captivated, decided to search for her on Facebook. His first message was an unconventional “So, St. Jude, huh?”—a message that marked the start of countless conversations and a growing bond.

Despite studying at different universities—Emil at De La Salle University and her at UST—they found ways to connect. Their first face-to-face meeting was unforgettable: Emil stood outside in the rain, waiting for her to emerge from her building. That moment solidified their connection, leading them to officially start dating in 2018 and becoming a couple in 2019.

The pandemic tested their relationship, with jokes about their “long-distance” status as they communicated through hours-long video calls. When restrictions lifted, they resumed seeing each other in person, and Emil knew by late 2022 that he wanted her as his partner for life. After getting her parents’ blessing and purchasing a ring, he planned to propose after her board exam in March 2023.

During a trip to Las Casas, what began with a small argument turned into a life-changing moment. Emil initially planned to propose on a bridge by the sea but, fearing she might suspect his intentions, he got down on one knee in front of the church. She said yes, and the rest became a beautiful journey to their wedding day.

Their wedding celebration reflected their personalities—vibrant, joyful, and full of life. They chose a chartreuse green theme, a color that symbolized their desire for a bright and happy occasion. The enchanted garden reception, with pastel flowers, represented Emil’s love for showering his bride with flowers throughout their relationship.

The most memorable moment was when the bride serenaded Emil with “Everytime We Touch” as they walked into the reception. Despite not being a singer, she sang her heart out, making their first dance even more special. Their wedding was truly unique—a day filled with laughter, colors, and a love that they shared with their closest family and friends.
