WE had a quick chat with Angel and Neil Arce’s event stylist, Randy Lazaro, and we are curious of #TheLazaroEffect. (Photography by Nice Print Photography)
WE: How did you get the job?
Randy: Grabe kahit intimate wedding lang kinilig ako talaga, tapos ako kasi yung tinawagan nya. Grabe naiyak ako! (I had butterflies! She was the one who called me up, I cried!) We actually met before when I also helped her for her program Iba ‘Yan, so when she called me kampante na kami sa isa’t isa (we were at ease with each other).
WE: What were her pegs for the setup?
Randy: She is a very simple person and very practical. She didn’t want anything lavish. So I used leaves, herbs and simple flowers. I used roses and hydrangeas for her intimate dinner setup in their new home. For her bouquet, it was a hand-tied mix of Zembla white flowers (chrysanthemum) and a few local leaves and herbs. That’s how simple she wants it. I even suggested to make it more elaborate, ayaw nya talaga (she doesn’t like it).
WE: What was the effect on you?
Randy: Oh my, ako ata yung na #TheAngelEffect (I felt like I got #TheAngelEffect) She’s really my Angel. My social media just went from a 25k followers to 80k plus in just 2 hours. For event stylists at this time, PR and marketing is really a plus and I am grateful for Angel. I believe that she was heaven sent!
The Lazaro Effect
The Lazaro Effect is a descriptive term, a moniker synonymous with the signature Randy Lazaro’s design. It solidified the brand’s foray into the field of event styling. From family affairs to small fetes and later on to grand weddings, the name has spread like wildfire.
By the end of 2018, the label has become one of the Philippines’ leading event styling houses specializing in classic aesthetics that also accentuate each contemporaneous detail. Just as he emphasizes the overall setting, he pores over all facets of the design.
