#WERealWeddings featuring VICTOR MARTIN MARIANO and PATRISHA KARA KEISHIA CANLAS
They say that 7 is a lucky number. Which I didn’t believe before. But last 7th of December 2019, after being with Victor for 7 years, it was the day that I finally tied the knot with the man of my dreams. We originally planned our wedding date on our 7th year anniversary as a couple, but we decided to move it on a later date since December gives a festive vibe. We wanted our wedding to be full of emotions and love from our family and friends.
Planning a wedding is quite overwhelming when you want it to be perfect and grand. We went hotel-hopping and scouted lots of event places. We also attended lots of bridal fairs making sure we won’t miss out the “perfect” supplier who will make our dream wedding possible.
Wedding planning isn’t easy, in fact there came a time when I got confused and overwhelmed. Where do I start? Do I decide on a date first, or do I book a supplier? Which supplier do we secure first? Do I really want to have a wedding in Manila or in Pampanga, my hometown? Which date in December?
One evening, when we were catching up with our friends who have already been married, they advised us to start booking the church first, and then the rest were easier to manage. After a few days, Victor and I went to the Shrine of St. Therese in Newport City. We inquired about the weekends in December. Sadly, most of the weekends are booked and Sundays were fully booked, but one weekend was available, and that date was December 7 2019. We then immediately secured that date. On the same day, we went to a bridal fair. We checked lots of hotels and found out that Manila Marriott is also open for our big day. I was so ecstatic and I couldn’t believe that all our first choice venues were available on December 7.
Our big day came, and by God’s grace everything went as planned. The most memorable for us was when we exchanged our personal vows. It was our moment to express our emotions and heartfelt gratitude for one another in front of our families and friends. Our theme was classic. We veered away with the overwhelming elements because we want the wedding to be about us. We chose the colors emerald green, whites, gray and gold. Green, as it is the favorite color of Victor. We chose the shade Emerald as it is very timeless and classy. Gray for manly but with a classy feel. Whites and touch of gold for the reception to add that dreamy effect. We are very thankful to Drew Menor and the Marriott team since they were able to execute it perfectly and make our dream wedding come true.
