#WERealWeddings featuring LEONARD MARTIN E. SYJUCO and IVY DIANE T. SYJUCO
I am pretty sure that couples who got married the first few months of 2020 would be telling the same story as mine. Our stories would tell how much preparation was done in putting the elements of a dream wedding together just to come to a point when we all have to decide to scrap the plan and make an alternative move. All original plans were no longer feasible because a nationwide community lockdown was enforced to keep everyone safe from the fast-spreading deadly virus.
And because this was all happening at the height of a pandemic, we even got to be interviewed after the ceremonial rites by a reporter from GMA. The interview was aired the same night on TV. Not very many would have the same opportunity like that. It was truly an added feature to our wedding day.
A simple banquet was set at home and the rest of the night was shared with the closest friends and family.
The pandemic has impacted everyone’s life and to this date no one has given a clear answer to how life would go from here on. The uncertainties leave us in fear but ever holding on to the promises of new beginnings.
As for me and Leonard, the one thing we are so certain about is our commitment to love each other even through difficult times. This we know for sure.
