Designer Mikee Andrei, once our cover designer for Wedding Essentials, added another milestone in her design career with the launch of her Spring/Summer 2020 Ready-To-Wear bridal collection in collaboration with Okada Manila.
Inspired by Okada’s vibrant and dynamic offerings from its visually stunning décor to its world-class amenities, Mikee Andrei carefully presented a bridal collection infused with her signature techniques and treatments. The outcome is a bridal collection that offers versatility and variety.
Mikee Andrei describes her latest bridal collection as feminine and sophisticated, envisioning a bride at a beach, garden or even a forest wedding. Always leaning towards using and layering lace, resulting in romantic Boho-Victoriana styles, Mikee Andrei mixed it up this time with simpler cuts and soft draping. Lace still features prominently in the collection adding visual interest and softness to more modern silhouettes and structured accents.
“A Mikee Andrei Bride can be anyone. Our brand caters to every type of bride. She may go for the simplest design and cut or she can be the Disney princess-inspired bride who wants it full and grand. What makes her a true Mikee Andrei Bride is when she knows what she wants and makes sure she gets it. She is someone who is not afraid to wear what her heart tells her and is in control – a very empowered woman!”
This is the designer’s first time collaborating with Okada and she hopes it will be a continuous and fruitful connection. If the editorial photos are any indication of the successful collaboration between the two, then WE cannot wait to see this relationship blossom.
