Michael Leyva’s Halo Bridal Collection

Industry favorite Michael Leyva has been wowing audiences with his bold creations, clean lines, and strongly feminine aesthetic.

His heavenly sophomore collection for Marry Me At Marriott entitled “Halo” is a tribute to his inspiration and constant driving force, his brother Brian who passed away a few years ago.

Halo is a representation of light, hope, and purity. These are the very keywords that also describe Leyva’s philosophy of weddings. According to him, the shape of a halo is something he often uses in his collections through styling and accessories in order to underline the sacred glory of light as an essential element of the wedding union.

Styling played a huge part in the visual impact of his collection. Instead of the usual bridal show hair and make-up that is often simple and pretty to draw focus on the dress, Leyva, together with The Wedding Stylist Rey Santos and his team, pushed the envelope a little further by amping up the theatrics.

Models strutted down the runway like heavenly creatures with painted metallic faces and hands adorned with the most creative use of pearls. Even the male models sported wire facial jewelry which traced their facial profile.

Leyva presented a variety of silhouettes and lengths for his bridal collection. His signature ball gowns were embellished with crystals, feathers, sequins, and beads balanced by some pieces which were more streamlined or devoid of any embellishments.

Also notable were the few pieces of menswear he presented which strengthens the growing trend of incorporating pastel-hued suits and tuxedos.

Perhaps the most talked-about highlight of the evening was the appearance of actress Nadine Lustre who graced the runway and closed the show, clad in Leyva’s piece de resistance – a glittering silver  gown with a deep V-neckline cut close to the body with an overskirt accented by a series of structured flounces at the back completed with a sheer veil scattered with individual crystals. Once the piano keys played the tune of ‘On the Wings of Love’, the crowd went silent as Nadine slowly made her way down the aisle.

The most beautiful bride that she could be. Watching the video while Nadine slowly walking the runway you can feel the beat of Nadine’s heart, it makes you teareyed while she is walking with much grace and glamour. The music of On The Wings of Love gives much emotions like what we felt in the wedding of that telserye.
