Designer Leo Almodal is known in the industry as the ‘King of Bling’. His creations are like wearable high jewelry with his exquisite beadwork and unabashed use of high-grade Swarovski crystals.
For his Marry Me at Marriott collection, he was inspired by romance, fairytale, and happy endings. Actress Sanya Lopez opened the show in an off-the-shoulder ball gown with Almodal’s unmistakable play of crystals, appliques, and beads.
Several recognizable names in fashion and pageantry graced the runway in glittering dresses from mermaid-cut silhouettes with low bejeweled backs to muse Arci Munoz’s high-neck, cap-sleeved masterpiece with a sprawling train.
Models walked down the runway complete with tiaras, making the fantasy of being a princess come alive. Each garment is tactile, and a closer look at the details feels like navigating through an enchanted forest of floral clusters and wave-like vines. Almodal successfully combined magical elements associated with childhood fantasy with his mastery of couture techniques.
Leo Almodal’s creations are for brides who aren’t afraid to stand out. They’re for individuals who want to live the dream and be a royal princess for a day with memories to last a lifetime.
