Dream Themes: Tropical Love

Wedding planning is a massive undertaking and can take its toll on any couple, but adopting a carefree and relaxed theme helps alleviate some of the pressure. Operating on this notion, Blooms 2710 Event Styling created a tropical-inspired setup at Quest Hotel, combining the idyllic appeal of an outdoor setting with the luxurious amenities of a hotel venue.

Temporarily housed at Quest Hotel’s Acacia Park, Blooms’ setup offers a breezy and upscale take on wedding receptions, courtesy of the venue’s diverse offerings.

“It’s like a one-stop shop for couples that are going to get married soon,” describes Quest Hotel’s Mabel Lopez-Roman. In addition to its flexible packages, upgrades, side amenities, Grand Villa and 500-capacity Grand Ballroom, Quest Hotel’s strategic location (the hotel is located inside the scenic Mimosa Estates, with Acacia Park and Hilltop Mimosa nearby), makes it ideal for either an indoor or outdoor event, including prenup shoots and receptions.

Blooms 2710 Event Styling utilized the hotel’s picturesque outdoor space by setting up the VIP table under a makeshift four-poster canopy on an elevated area in the middle of a pond.

“We want[ed] to highlight the new Acacia Park of the hotel, with its lush greenery and water feature. Since the theme is ‘Tropical Luxe,’ we decided, why not utilize one of the existing ponds of the park and set up an elegant chuppah-inspired structure on it for it to be interesting?”, the stylist from Blooms 2710 Event Styling explained.

Sheer, white fabric drapes over the canopy, embellished with floral garlands comprised of a balance of tropical flowers and foliage, as well as imported garden flowers in shades of peach, lilac and white that cascade down on all four sides into a leafy and flowery base. Three gold-and-crystal chandeliers hang from the top and illuminate the area, along with floating lanterns to accentuate the water element, resulting in a dramatic effect.

Meanwhile, the long VIP table is covered in a cream-colored fabric that hangs ruffled on all sides, accented with a champagne-colored table runner with white lace trim and paired with chairs in natural material and finish. Textured glass vases hold bouquets of anthuriums, cymbidiums, phalaenopsis, ecuadorian roses, ranunculus, carnation and tulips in vibrant shades of lime green, mauve, fuchsia, blush, purple, white and peach, along with gold-framed, geometric glass candleholders, white candles inside brass-and-glass candlesticks and tea lights in vintage-style copper jars.

The round guest tables echo the same setup, albeit on a smaller scale, with bouquets of gilded foliage and the same flowers as the centerpiece, along with tea lights in vintage-style copper jars and gold-and-glass candelabras.

The dinnerware is comprised of white plates with ridged detailing, gold charger plates, matching gold flatware, and wine glasses. A sprig of fuchsia orchid is tucked into each cloth napkin atop each plate, as well as in the menus courtesy of The Write Impression.

Matching the place cards and invitations, the menus are printed on ivory white paper that features a delicate and summery design of tropical leaves and flowers, which also resembles the lining of the accompanying tangerine envelopes.

Rounding out the theme, The Caking Giant made a three-tiered, white mock fondant cake set on a dais with dark stripes. The bottom layer is plain white, embellished with an origami design.

Meanwhile, the second tier comes in a blush-colored hue with metallic piping and features cutouts framed with the same dark border that runs along the dais. Finally, the topmost layer also bears a plain design with a striped base and is topped with a bouquet of sugar violet flowers, leaves, and blush Anthuriums.
