Pearls have been a fashion staple for centuries. Mughal rulers casually piled multi-stranded pearls with other precious gemstones in their everyday wear while the Elizabethans enthusiastically incorporated these lustrous little beads into their wardrobe and elaborate hairstyles. In the early 20th century, iconic fashion designer Coco Chanel championed the wearing of pearls elevating it to how it is viewed today – understated, elegant and chic.
Last April, fashion blogger Camille Co pulled off the latest bridal trend when she tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in Italy wearing a minimalist Lela Rose gown with an attention-grabbing headpiece. Camille wore not one, but two rows of pearl headbands by jewelry and accessories designer Keren Wolf, earning her praises for staying true to her fashionista persona and trying on something bold.
