How does the daughter of the fifth richest man in the world and Zara founder tie the knot? In style of course!
Marta Ortega, the youngest daughter of Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega wed Carlos Torretta, a model agent and son of a Spanish designer at her family’s home in Galicia, Spain on November 16, 2018. Dubbed as Spain’s “wedding of the year”, the glitzy series of events were attended by media personalities and socialites including model Eugenia Silva, Greek heiress – Athina Onasis and Coldplay frontman – Chris Martin amongst others.

The fashion-forward bride, who is also the senior creative consultant at Zara Women—wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown designed by the brand’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli for the at-home ceremony. Ditching the crystal studded ball gowns usually associated with the ultra-rich, the bride opted for a simple pale pink floor length dress with a high neckline, a pin-tucked bodice with sheer puffed sleeves and a long, straight skirt tied at the waist. She completed her bridal look with delicate floral hair accents, a full-length veil, and a bouquet of wildflowers.

Following the ceremony, the festivities continued as the couple hosted a cocktail party at the Royal Yacht Club in A Coruna. This time, the bride changed into a tuxedo-inspired cropped trouser suit teamed with a sheer black blouse and black stilettos.

The reception where Chris Martin, Norah Jones and Jamie Cullum entertained guests took place at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center on Saturday with reportedly 400 guests—and two more wedding looks. The first was a plush cream coat over a shimmering metallic backless dress. Videos on social media have emerged showing Marta and Carlos’ first dance as Chris Martin serenades them with Coldplay’s hit Yellow wearing the said backless number.

Later in the evening, the bride changed into her fourth and final look: A whimsical pink bow gown by Valentino that she wore to dance into the early morning.

Marta Ortega’s wedding looks unfolded like a fashion collection. It starts out minimalist then a bit edgy, going towards sexy and finally romantic. The lavish affair with a socialite-studded guest list, world-class performers and lots of style moments is exactly what is expected from the union of two fashion scions.
