Whirlwind is a word often mentioned in articles relating to the romance between Bollywood superstar and global icon – Priyanka Chopra and pop singer – Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers fame. The seemingly surprising pairing has been the talk of the entertainment industry tabloids and glossies since their first appearance together at the MET Ball in July 2017. Even more surprising was their engagement confirmation on their social media platforms in August of this year. The confirmation coincided with the couple’s trip to India for the roka ceremony, which is a traditional practice of exchanging gifts to make the union of the couple’s family public.

Details of the cinematic engagement ring selection soon emerged with reports on how the singer shut down the renowned Tiffany & Co store in London to shop for an engagement ring in utmost privacy. Shortly after selecting the perfect ring, Nick, 26 proposed to his 36-year-old girlfriend in a private and romantic setting on her birthday celebration weekend. Since then, the bride-to-be has been snapped by the paparazzi wearing the Tiffany sparkler at various events. Instagram followers later got a clearer glimpse of the statement-making ring in a selfie post by Priyanka’s friend and Bollywood star – Raveena Tandon.

According to diamond experts, the ring, which is estimated at five-carats is a timeless design that features a cushion-cut diamond set in platinum with what looks like small baguette diamonds on the sides. A ring of such size and quality would cost around $275,000 – $300,000 as Tiffany engagement rings are iconic and the brand is highly esteemed for using ethically sourced diamonds.
At the launch of Tiffany’s Blue Book collection in New York recently, Priyanka was asked about her favorite piece from Tiffany’s collections in which she adorably pointed at her engagement ring. She also revealed that Nick got the hint that her engagement ring had to be from Tiffany’s as she might have mentioned in past conversations about her favorite film, which happened to be Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She might have also mentioned the ring-picking scene from the Reese Witherspoon film – Sweet Home Alabama in which her fiancé admirably picked up on. Dispelling previous reports on picking the ring together, Priyanka confirmed that Nick went with his brothers.

Her bachelorette soiree was held in Amsterdam last month attended by her fashionable friends including her future sister-in-law, Sophie Turner from the hit TV series, Game of Thrones. No wedding date has been set but Vogue Magazine confirmed the location for the forthcoming nuptials speculated to take place sometime this December. The lavish ceremony will take place in Jodphur, Rajasthan at the romantic Umaid Bhawan Palace, an architectural gem overlooking the famed blue city.
