This year’s most anticipated gathering of the country’s brightest stars and talents were all glammed up for the ABS-CBN Ball at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel last night. There was no shortage of sparkles and luxurious fabrics as ladies paraded in their custom-made formal wear. White, silver, and ecru were popular shades worn with silhouettes ranging from ball gowns to sexy shimmery numbers. We’ve gathered ten bridal-worthy looks seen at the ball perfect for classic elegant brides, modern minimalists and everyone in between.
Erich Gonzales
The night’s “Best Dressed Female” awardee wore a classy all-white Mikado silk gown by Vania Romoff. Devoid of any embellishments, the gown had a dramatic off the shoulder draping with a subtle ruched effect on the bodice that added interest to the simple cut of the garment. Styled in an elegant updo, wearing a pair of eye-catching diamond chandelier earrings – Erich evoked old Hollywood glamour in her ensemble.

Kathryn Bernardo
Teen Queen – Kathryn Bernardo is no stranger to the ball. Over the years she has worn sweet princess-like ball gowns to fashion-forward designer frocks that were all heavily embellished. Last year she shone bright like a diamond in a fully crystalized Patricia Santos gown that made everyone swoon. This year, she’s white hot as she showed her more mature side by choosing a sleek, figure-hugging, and asymmetric Jun Escario gown styled with a simple ponytail and a pair of linear diamond earrings.

Maricar Reyes-Poon
Having one of the prettiest faces in the industry, Maricar has become one of the most anticipated celebrities to grace the red carpet year after year. Having a penchant for choosing simple designs in either black or white that photographs well in all angles, this time around she chose a structured pristine white gown with a huge bow accent – a signature of the designer, Mark Bumgarner. A girly bow dress is a good contrast to the actress’ super chic short haircut.

Vivoree Esclito
The relative newcomer has had a few red carpet moments under her belt. She upped the level of glam for her look this year by wearing a strapless column dress by Steph Tan Couture. The 90’s silhouette of the gown with wavelike crystal beadwork gets a bit of a flapper from the 20’s treatment by adding long strands of crystal fringe scattered across the bottom part of the garment for movement and sparkle.

The talented singer looked like a snow queen in her embellished gown by Paolo Blanco. Made from thousands of white beads, pearls, crystals and ostrich feathers, the gown itself had multiple design details but is still managed to look cohesive and luxurious. The overall treatment resembled some of the pieces from the designer’s most recent Snowflake collection.

Miss International 2016 – Kylie Verzosa sizzled in her sweet and sexy Francis Libiran ensemble. Her barely-there outfit was made from a fully beaded white gown in sheer fabric.
