“My signature makeup focuses on glowy skin and eye makeup work. My goal is to make them look like the best version of themselves. I like to keep everything at a minimum like they just came out straight from a bridal magazine–never overly done! I always ask for bride’s expectations and collaborate with them along the way.”

Mikka’s tips for her brides are:

1. I always believe there’s an inner Bridal glow shining in every bride, but prepping the skin is a must because it makes the makeup sit on top of the skin like no other.

2. I advise brides to do derma and hair appointments a week before. I highly recommend Aivee Clinic and Studio Fix by Alex Carbonell to get the utmost care, they really know what they’re doing!

3. For people with enlarged pores and oily skin, I love using fresh from the freezer ice cubes. This shrinks the size of pores and therefore will help lessen the production of oil.

4. For the staying power of hairstyle, I always advise avoiding the use of conditioner.

5. I highly encourage to moisturize the skin and lips, especially the night before making sure her skin is in the best possible condition and ready for makeup.

6. Last but not the least, always be positive. Weddings will never be perfect. When things don’t go as planned, look at the brighter side. Don’t stress and dwell on small things.
