In this age where a lot of wedding etiquette rules are being adapted, modified and often times ignored, there are still some basic do’s and don’ts that every wedding guest should follow and be aware of.Photo credit: Pinterest

Rule #1 Do RSVP. It really, really helps the couple if they know how many are attending so as to determine their guest count and budget.

Rule #2 Don’t bring additional guests or kids without asking pcermission first.
Do follow the dress code and refrain from wearing white since it’s a color usually reserved for the bride.

Rule #3 Do be on time. There is no such thing as being fashionably late for a wedding.

Rule #4 Don’t ask awkward questions should there be possible personal situations in the lives of the couple or their families. Show some tact and diplomacy and refrain from asking or commenting on any negative situations since weddings are not the place for this.

Rule #5 Snap away and capture the moment but be mindful of not getting in the way of the professional photographer or videographer.

Rule #6 Do check if posting wedding photos or videos on social media is permitted before you share or upload some that you have taken.

Rule #7 Mix and mingle during the wedding and don’t just stay on your own or with a particular group of guests.

Rule #8 Say hello and goodbye to the couple just like any polite guest should do.

Rule #9 After the wedding, do make sure to shoot out a short and sweet thank you to the wedding couple.
