So what does this mean for couples who are planning to get married this year?
1.Take time to meditate or go on a retreat.
Before getting married, take time to go on a singles retreat and a couples retreat. The time you will be using to reflect will solidify your individual growth before you fully (and officially) make the commitment to the love of your life.
Once you have have sorted things out for yourself, you could reflect together as a couple to find out if you’re both on the same page (on matter like financial and family planning). We all know marriage is also hard work, so get ready to dive into the nit and grit of it.
2.It takes (at least) 6 people to choose the perfect day to get married.
A common misconception is that there are ‘good days’ to get married so you could just pick one. On the contrary, you need to take into account the day and year of birth of the bride, the groom, the parents of the bride and the parents of the groom and make sure nobody is in conflict with the chosen date. If you have step-parents, you have to take them into account as well.
But if you’ve already chosen a date, signed supplier contracts, and made down payments, the people with conflicting signs on that day could simply be asked not to look at the bride as she walks down the aisle. Don’t worry though, they could look at the bride again as soon as she’s settled down at the altar.
3.Choose an even lunar month to get married.
Regardless of the year, this rule applies: Counting from Lunar February, March, May, July, Sept, Nov, Jan, are the best months to get married simply because an even lunar month connotes ‘couple’ while an odd lunar month connotes a third party and the couple being ‘at odds’ with each other, increasing the odds of marriage not working out.
4.The Rule of 6, 3, 9.
In terms of compatibility, do not disregard the rule in choosing a partner who’s 6, 3, and 9 years older or younger than you, respectively. This rule shows the signs you’re in conflict or incompatible with. For example, if you’re the year of the dog, count 6, 3, and 9 from your sign:
6: Dragon
3: Sheep
9: Ox
This means you are not compatible with the dragon, the sheep and the ox. But then again, compatibility is more complex than a simple yes or no, so you have to look at the compatibility of your birth dates as well.
5. Love conquers all.
