Dream Theme: How To Be a Mermaid on Your Wedding

As little girls, we have always dreamed of becoming a mermaid. As adults, the urge for this dream to be realised has grown stronger! So why not make it happen on your wedding day? Here are a few scenarios:

Two venue options: indoor and outdoor.

For an indoor wedding, why not hold the ceremony in an aquarium? You’ll definitely get a unique backdrop and the most serene environment. And by the time you exchange vows, you could proudly say: ‘two less fish in the sea!’

Translating the theme of the ceremony to the reception, think: blue! Blue lights, video mapping, blue everything. Flowers could be kept to a minimum while the illusion of ferns and glass bubbles will dominate.

For an outdoor reception by the beach, rustic and minimalist is the way to go so that nature could work its magic for you. The only thing you shouldn’t miss is the excessively sparkly mermaid-green tablecloth.

Instead of rustic chairs, you could also go for ghost chairs to give the illusion of being one with the sea.

If you want to break the tradition of wearing a white dress, pile on the sparkles with a sequinned dress. Imagine how magical it will look in the sunset!

If you want to go all-out mermaid, go for a dress decorated with turquoise and emerald jewels.

But if you do not want to veer away from the traditional white, add some ombre pastels on your skirt!

Then change into a scale-patterned sequinned short dress for the afterparty.

And of course, a special dress needs to be matched with a special ring. Look at these mesmerizing rings with aquamarine, topaz and opal stones, it’ll definitely be a unique touch to your unforgettable wedding.

Oh, and make your ring bearer deliver it to you in a seashell!

Instead of tiaras, let starfishes and shells embellish your hair.

You must also match your entourage’s dresses with the colors of the sea, in different shades of green and blue.

For your bouquet, it’s out with the flowers and in with the shells!

Last but not the least–the cake! Keep the colors muted because the bursts of blue lights in the reception area will definitely give the cake a bit of color.
